The tranquil treatment room at So Shiatsu is located in a beautiful Regency house with breathtaking views over the landscaped gardens and the sea.

Shiatsu is carried out with the client being fully clothed – ideally wearing a long sleeved cotton top, jogging bottoms and socks. The practitioner will ask a range of questions regarding the client’s health and lifestyle. This is to ensure that it is safe to proceed with the treatment and to aid diagnosis.

The practitioner may use other diagnostic tools such as examining the client’s tongue, back, face and palpating the abdomen. Please inform the practitioner if you feel uncomfortable about undergoing any of these procedures. The treatment is carried out traditionally lying or sitting on a futon mattress on the floor. Shiatsu can also be given on a massage couch if preferred.

The first appointment will last around one-and-a-half hours, with follow-up sessions lasting around one hour.
