It’s always the same every year. As soon as the weather gets colder, everyone I come across seems to have a cold! So what can you do to help prevent this?

Remember to wrap up warm, eat nutritious warm foods and practice good hand hygiene during the colder months!

You can also use Lung 7, which is an acupressure point that can help clear your symptoms and boost your immune system.

How to find Lung 7:

Spread your fingers wide apart and look at the thumb side of your hand.
Look for the depression at the base of the thumb.

Lung 7 is located approximately two finger widths up from the depression (going up your arm towards your elbow).

You know that you are in the correct place as you will feel a slight depression between two tendons. The point will feel tender when you press on it.

This point can be used during your regular Shiatsu treatment and you can top up the treatment at home by stimulating the point with your thumb rotating in a clockwise direction.

Keep doing this (when you remember) whilst you are feeling ill and as a preventative measure if you are feeling run down. And it’s best to stimulate the point on both arms!

Keep well this autumn and winter xx
